Balatro Jimbo Card Factory
A downloadable Factory for Windows
INTRODUCTION
This tool was created to remove the frustrations of designing custom cards, especially when it comes to the markup and box design of the card effects. There's also limited tools to create a card if you're not familiar with graphic design.
Balatro Jimbo Card Factory is the second iteration of the tool, the first iteration is still available on my itch.io page under Balatro Text Tool. Balatro Jimbo Card Factory is written in .NET and makes creating the cards more intuitive. The drawback is that, for now, this tool is only available as an executable and a web version is not planned at the moment.
TEXTBOX GUIDE
Name: The name of your card. This will dynamically increase the width of the textbox if it gets too long.
Rarity: The rarity or type of your card. This can be Common or Rare, but also a Planet or Voucher.
Width: If you don't want dynamic scaling, you can change this number to your desired width.
Description: The effect of your card. The easiest way to create cards is checking Live Formatting and writing your effect. This will format common keywords into the correct color. After that you can uncheck Live Formatting to finetune and highlight the other keywords you want with the new color buttons.
Live Formatting: Automatically highlight the description keywords.
CARD GUIDE
Image: Click the empty rectangle to upload an image. This can be full art, or just a background.
Interpolation: If you uploaded pixel art, you probably want to use Nearest Neighbor. Otherwise you probably want to select Bilinear or something else to increase your card's quality.
Corner Radius: The smoothness of your corners.
Border: The size of the border, also the ability to change the border color.
Text overlay: Most often the dual JOKER displayed on the card.
Hat, Face, Body overlay: Make your own custom Jimbo quickly with these presets.
Vertical offset: Move Jimbo up or down.
Background: The background that will be shown during export.
Clear: Transparent background during export.
Include in export: Check this off if you only want to export the textbox.
Gradient: Little experimental thing I made. You know how Gros Michel and Four Fingers have this trippy clashing cradient texture? You can create one yourself here.
OPTION BAR GUIDE:
New: Start over.
Save: Save your current card design. Cards are saved as a .jimbo extension but these are just .json in disguise.
Load: Load a card design.
Exit: Quit the application.
Export Screenshot: Export your textbox and optionally the card.
Open Screenshots Folder: Quickly find your exports.
MODDING GUIDE:
Rarities and overlays are taken from an image folder. If you follow the correct syntax in naming them (spr_rarity_********.png), you can add custom sprites to the project.
KNOWN BUGS:
-> The logo in the corner hovers over the textbox
-> I'm not sure how well saving/loading works at this point: Please don't design 100 cards without exporting any fully trusting you can get them all back.
-> The file size is quite high because .NET tends to be bloated if you just wing it - I could reduce it but that's a lot of work that I can't be bothered with right now. Perhaps in the future.
CALL FOR ARTISTS:
I am far from something you might call an artist, so the overlays I was able to provide are limited. If you're an artist and you want to provide modular art or gradients for people to use, hit me up on Discord (ofmonstersandken). Disclaimer that I do not have a budget for this project and I do not ask for money either, so if you'd be interested in providing art it'd be with the same mindset I have, being "I just want to give to the community".

Can you make a mobile version? It would be really helpful for me. (You don't have to though)
